Role synopsis BP Azerbaijan Georgia Turkey Region (AGTR) invites professionals to apply to Offshore Site Health and Safety (H&S) Lead role in Safety & Operational Risk (S&OR) Health & Safety Organization.

As Site H&S Lead you will be working in one of the offshore platforms and will be responsible for providing day-to-day support to all platform personnel on health, safety, environmental and emergency response aspects of the platform’s activities, which also includes topsides and drilling to ensure safe, complaint and environmentally acceptable operations.

Site H&S Lead is reporting directly to respective Site H&S Leads Team Leader.

Key accountabilities

• Act as a focal point for Offshore Installation Manager (OIM) and Well Site Leader (WSL) on HSE & Employee Relations (ER) issues and associated rescue plans;
• Ensure alignment with BP HSE Policies, Standards, Practices and Guidelines and legal requirements;
• Facilitate conducting and periodic review of Risk Assessments to ensure that all HSE hazards are identified and adequately addressed;
• Verify that people are appropriately trained and competent to conduct their work safely in accordance with approved procedures, e.g. personnel involved in lifting;
• Monitor maintenance standards, integrity and certification for fire fighting, lifesaving and other safety equipment;
• Provide assurance that all Safe Systems of Work procedures are followed (e.g. Lifting Operations, Working at Heights, Energy Isolation, Authorisation, etc.);
• Participate in Incident Investigations to determine Immediate and Systems Causes and developing Corrective Actions;
• Co-ordinate environmental monitoring and reporting to ensure compliance with approved procedures

Essential Education

Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Health, Safety and/or Environmental studies, Engineering or Sciences

Essential experience and job requirements

Minimum 2 years of HSE experience.

Other Requirements (eg Travel, Location)

• Demonstrated effective verbal, written and interpersonal skills and the ability to establish a good rapport with field personnel.
• Mid-level to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Tools.
• Experience in operations and projects.
• Experience in conducting HSE training

Desirable criteria & qualifications

• A Bachelor's degree in Safety, Industrial Hygiene or a related field, or 5 years of relevant work experience supporting oil and gas exploration/production.
• A Safety Professional certification.
