Overview:

Disassembles, inspects, assembles, reworks, troubleshoots and tests valves to exacting tolerances.

Responsibilities:

Objectives Include but are not limited to:

• Disassembles, cleans and inspects valves to determine repair requirements
• Completes inspection reports determining scrap, refurbishment or replacement of components, completes troubleshooting with support and in coordination with  engineering department when required
• Lapping if required
• Using various pneumatic tools, hand tools, acetylene torch, drill press and surface grinder required to disassemble and assemble valves
• Valve assembling  and testing
• Prepare and complete test report to issue to customer
• Calibration and refurbishment of PSVs
• Travels to the field to complete final installation (assemble) or troubleshooting of valves
• Reads complex engineering blueprints, drawings and diagrams
• Ensures that machinery and test equipment is functioning properly
• Performance routine maintenance on machinery and test equipment
• Performs housekeeping tasks as required
• Meets quality and specification standards
• Ability to validate equipment meets the specification for required service
• Follows safety and environmental rules, company policies and procedures in carrying out duties
• Serves as a knowledge resource for less experienced technicians and trains them as and when required
• On-time delivery
• Reduction in costs/wastage and scrap
• Abide by the Heath, Safety, Environment and Quality policy followed by the company at all times

Related to control valves:

• Strong control valve engineering knowledge, ability to complete RCFA
• Strip Valves / Prepare Inspection reports including PSV valve testing and calibration and writing reports
• Seat Leakage testing and report
• Movement (stroke) valve test when instrument air is applied
• final report upon refurbishment

Measurements:

• Customer Satisfaction and positive relations to be maintained at all times.
• Ensure that agreed time scales are complied with.
• Ensuring that all recommendations and valve related service / repair works are conducted in accordance with the required national / international or client specifications.
• Abide by the Companies Heath, Safety, Environment and Quality polices in place at all times
• All valve service / repair works are priced effectively and all subsequent works are completed within budget
• Ensuring that all valve related service / repair works are conducted in accordance with the required national / international or client specifications.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 5-10 years of valve service experience in workshop, experience in repair of control valves and actuators, refurbishment and calibration of PSVs, repair of isolation valves
• Strong valve product understanding, refurbishment and application of Actuated Control Valves, Pressure Safety Valves, gate, ball, needle, butterfly,non-return valves…
• Ability to support root cause failure analysis and design issues are added advantage
• Ability to adapt to procedures and techniques to meet customer requirements
• Ability to read, understand and handle the process data sheets
• Ability to understand and write valve calculation data sheets is advantage
• Strong knowledge of valve instrumentation
• Understanding of engineering drawings
• Ability to use various tools
• Ability to use various testing and measurement equipment
• Ability to add inspection data into computer programs
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
• Ability to read  wiring diagrams
• Strong knowledge of hands on analysis if condition of the valve actuators
• Higher education – Technical College degree as minimum, university degree preferred

Salary range is 2200 -2400 AZN gross per month
