Whether it be using the latest subsea technology to access oil from the deepest oceans, building some of the worlds biggest production facilities or designing pipelines that cross several countries, we have some of the largest projects and most complex engineering challenges in the world.

Role synopsis

Successful candidate will be managing delivery of the Shah Deniz 2 Jackets and pin pile fabrication and construction activities. Responcible for performance management of incumbent fabrication contractor to the agreed fabrication schedule and cost.

Key accountabilities

• Actively monitor construction activities first-hand to ensure the satisfactory execution of fabrication, lifting, loadout, commissioning, and other construction activities in accordance with the project schedule
• Recognize and effectively communicate all potential site risks regarding contractor progress, safety, and quality performance to the Project Manager
• Liaise closely with BP site planner to ensure that BP perspective on progress is accurately reported and documented
• Liaise closely with BP site planning and Construction Engineering to ensure that delivery of all company-supplied materials and equipment will meet contractor requirements
• Liaise with the site Quality Control Lead to ensure the timely presence of inspectors and the proper implementation/observation of Inspection & Test Plans (ITP’s)
• Assist with the assessment and resolution of non-conformances.
• Liaise with the site Construction Engineers regarding mobilization and coordination of vendors’ needs regarding systems’ commissioning
• Assist site QA/QC Lead and GOC Coordinator with ensuring all commissioning activities are performed in support of GOC requirements
• Lead weekly BP construction meetings regarding overall subsea fabrication execution issues
• Submit weekly construction operations report and provide other accurate/timely input to various site reports
• Demonstrate a commitment to the development and/or mentoring of Azerbaijani nationals who work on the site team.

Essential Education

• SQA Higher National Certificate/ Higher National Diploma (HNC/ HND) in Mechanical Engineering, SVQ in Engineering, Construction, Fabrication of steel structures

Essential experience and job requirements

• Substantial experience in a supervisory role or surveillance lead capacity over fabrication activities, lifting operations, mechanical completion, simultaneous operations (SIMOPS), permit-to-work (PTW) activities, and other construction operations
• Substantial experience with effectively interfacing and working together with owner/ contractor engineering & construction personnel and with multi-discipline site teams
• Numerous examples of team leadership roles and participation on high-impact teams.
• Very high level of expertise in comprehending and interpreting engineering & construction specifications, drawings, and other technical documents
• Expertise in interpreting and analysing construction schedules.
