Job description

 

DistributionNOW is a vertical distributor of valves, PVF, electrical products, ALS, drilling consumables and other consumable and expendable materials to the oil and gas and petrochemical industries in addition to providing a wide range of supply chain solutions and inventory management services. Our customers are E&P companies, drilling contractors, EPC contractors and service companies.

 

We deliver these services to our customers on a management services contract basis and, prior to this, we spend a great deal of time understanding our customers inventory management priorities and objectives.

 

We do this by analyzing their inventory consumption statistics to understand consumption patterns, improving the quality of their data, rationalizing product lines to reduce and make more efficient their purchasing spend.

 

We focus on sourcing high turnover product lines from multiple sources to identify the most cost effective suppliers  and offer integrated supply, inventory management, warehousing management and distribution solutions to ensure the materials their operations team requires are available where and when required, and that reduces their total cost of ownership and improves their cash flow.

 

The role of the Inside Sales (Pre-Contract) is to work closely with the Business Development Manager to move sales opportunities through from identification through to contract signing and handover to the operations team.

 

Specifically, the responsibilities of the position are as follows:

 

• Monitoring tender websites, newspapers and trade magazines for tender announcements

• Attractiveness screening and selection based on attractiveness scoring

• Prequalification/Vendor Registration

• Customer inventory data analysis

• Sourcing from multiple vendors

• Pricing comparison and vendor selection

• Logistics planning and comparison

• Commercial proposal

• ERP quotation and order processing

• Handover to the operations team following contract award

Work Experience

 

• Essential attributes:

 

• Good general knowledge of oil and gas materials: PFF, valves and actuators, electrical, drilling consumables, PPE/safety

• Excellent data management skills to sort, summarise, understand inventory data in MS Excel using advanced functions (VLOOKUP, pivot tables and charts, formulas, text to columns, remove duplicates, data validation, conditional formatting,

• General knowledge of sourcing large quantities quickly the same materials, pricing comparisons and selections: PFF, valves, electrical, drilling consumables, PPE safety

• Calculating logistics quotes and dealing with freight forwarders, Inco terms, duties etc

 

• Preferable but not essential

 

• Familiar with oil and gas vendor prequalification and vendor registration processes  

• ERP order processing experience (1C, SAP etc)

 

Education, Languages, IT and Personal (essential)

 

• Technical diploma or degree (essential)

• Technical or business bachelors degree (would be nice but not essential)

• Familiar and comfortable  with all MS office applications

• Excellent references (demonstrating required experience, team spirit)
