Role synopsis 

 

The Project Engineering Team Lead - Pipelines is responsible for the management of the offshore pipeline installation including the landfall works, near shore trenching and pipe-lay operations.

 

Key accountabilities 

 

General

 

• Responsible for the safe, efficient, and effective execution of project scopes. 

• Maintain awareness and promote project goals in respect of HSE, Budget, Schedule, and Technical Integrity. 

• Provide direction, motivation, support and leadership to both internal staff and external contractors. 

• Responsible for ensuring the installation contractor delivers a competent organisation and a high standard of resources to successfully execute the work. 

• Responsible for managing contractor project execution performance and scope delivery. 

• Maintain awareness and promote conformance to Global Project Operations (GPO) expectations and requirements of Safe Design and Quality Build within the Pipelines Construction Team and the Contractors. 

• Promote an effective and collaborative working environment with a ‘One Team’ approach. 

• Maintain close contact with the BP Construction Management network to ensure relevant lessons and practices are evaluated for applicability to Shah Deniz 2 (SD2) and implemented as appropriate. Offshore Pipelines Construction

 

Management

 

• Manage the execution of the landfall works, near-shore trenching and pipe-lay. 

• Maintain a close interface with the onshore terminal team for the landfall and beach pull operations. 

• Build and lead a high performance team to facilitate successful delivery of the offshore execution. 

• Manage the BP Company representatives on the offshore vessels and at the landfall site. 

• Provide support to the Pipelines Project Manager to deliver safe efficient execution of the offshore activities.

 

Essential Education 

 

Engineering degree and professional status accreditation with a recognised institution.

 

Essential experience and job requirements 

 

• A minimum of 10years experience of general offshore construction and subsea pipeline installation 

• Proven experience of pipe-lay barge operations and landfall works 

• Proven capability of building and leading successful teams 

• Experience with site management activities related to health, safety, and environmental issues
