POSITION: ACCOUNTANT, EU STUDIES PROJECT

POSITION SUMMARY

Accountant supports the accounting and reporting activities of EU Studies Project.  Directly responsible for invoice booking and releasing for payment, maintaining accounting databases, and daily and monthly account balancing.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Supervise and coordinate provision of all financial support required to the project;
• Participate in financial budgeting of the project related activities;
• Manage financial administration and financial system, including bank and cash management, receipts preparation and organization;
• Set up the accounting system;
• Ensure financial report and payment requests;
• Carry out expenditure verification;
• Make final payment and recoveries;

• Prepare monthly budget requirements related to the above and financial statements of project petty cash;
• Provide documentation, preparation of finance reporting and personnel affairs incl. travel reports;
• Execute all payment processes and other financial controls in direct capacity and responsibility of the project;
• Any other business in reasonable context with the project, as required by the Project Director.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• BA Economics / Accounting / Finance or Business Administration, MA or any recognized accounting qualification  (CIMA, ACCA, etc) preferably;
• At least 3 years’ experience in financial management;
• Possess good accounting experience, some tax knowledge desirable;
• Strong organizational skills;
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills;
• Excellent written and verbal skills. Fluency in English and Azeri. Good command of Russian language;  
• Excellent computer skills and proficient in excel, word and outlook.
