Role synopsis

Shah Deniz Gas Value Chain (GVC) consists of the Shah Deniz Stage 2 upstream development, South Caucasus Pipeline expansion (SCPx), Trans Anatolian Pipeline (TANAP) and Trans Adriatic Pipeline (TAP). These projects are collectively known as the Southern Corridor. BP Azerbaijan-Georgia-Turkey Region (AGTR) is pleased to announce opening of vacancy of Performance Manager, Southern Corridor. This role is responsible for the integrated planning, performance and risk management across the Southern Corridor projects. As a member of the Shah Deniz GVC Leadership Team and the Steering Group, the Performance Manager is responsible for integrating the functional activity sets and driving cross-functional decisions to ensure that technical and non-technical elements of the project are coordinated to achieve First Gas.

Key accountabilities

• Integrated Planning: maintain the integrated business plan for the Shah Deniz GVC. Work with the functions and Segments (GPO, GWO, AGT Region, Finance and IST) to provide assurance on schedule alignment between technical and non-technical milestones.

• Performance Management: lead preparation of the annual plan for Shah Deniz GVC and the Southern Corridor. Manage current performance reporting and preparation to the face to face Performance Reviews, Upstream Executive Meeting check-ins, etc.

• Risk and Opportunity Management: provide an integrated view of non-technical value chain risks and opportunities. Implement effective risk management processes. Ensure all internal and external risks with the commercial and political considerations have prevention and mitigation plans recorded in the integrated risk register.

• Leadership Team Coordination: Provide overall coordination of the Shah Deniz GVC leadership team activities. Promote effective collaboration between project teams to support delivery of project priorities, to share ideas and to seed future developments.

• External Alignment and Engagement: Work effectively with the external project stakeholders (European Commission, US Government, SOCAR, SOFAZ Shah Deniz JV Partners) to create alignment on the commercial, technical and political priorities of the Southern Corridor as required.

• Project Leadership: Actively lead projects which require integration across the value chain. Examples include Shah Deniz de-bottlenecking, capacity evaluation programme and Iranian sanction management.

Essential Education

• University Degree in a technical or financial discipline

Essential experience and job requirements

• 10-15 years of prior Finance or commercial experience (planning, performance management, economic evaluation)

• More than 5 years of relevant experience

• Azerbaijani Citizenship

• Excellent communications skills in written/oral English

• Ability to build relationships and networks at all levels including senior leaders internally and externally.

Desirable criteria & qualifications

• Exposure of working in the Caspian region preferred, ideally in major projects environment with deep understanding of regional dynamics and commercial, technical and political issues involved.

• Ability to deliver consistently in high pressure environments

• Ability to lead complex projects with minimal supervision

• Experience in leading and developing teams

• Prior experience in external facing roles (JV management/business development)
