"SOS Children's Villages - Azerbaijan" Association was founded in 1999 according to agreement signed between "SOS Children’s Village International”and Azerbaijan government. The main purpose of the organization is providing family based care to the children deprived from parental care as well as implementation of different activities aimed to provide children social welfare. Currently a number of social and educational projects successfully have being implemented within Baku and Ganja SOS Children's Villages and Family Support Program.

“SOS Children’s Villages – Azerbaijan” has been implementing Child Protection Policy based on  UN Convention on Child Rights.

National Education Advisor

National Education Advisor is in charge of development, management and evaluation of education programmes for implementation of SOS Children’s Village Programme Policy, SOS Formal Education Policy and other relevant Policies in NA in co-operation with partners from in and outside organisation.

Your main tasks and responsibilities:

    Coordinate National Association (NA)  in the development of Education interventions, in Programme proposals including guidance in carrying out comprehensive feasibility studies in light of the integrated approach, situation analysis needs assessments, etc. and evaluating them according to the Formal Education Policy.
    Coordinate NA in planning and setting up new Education Interventions
    Ensure effective development, administration and evaluation of national Education Interventions
    Regularly monitor progress of ongoing Education interventions in NA
    Develop national educational plans and coordinate development and annual review of Education Programs plans.
    Provide regular monthly, progress and annual reports.
    Support recruitment and selection process of staff in Education field in NA
    Support the organization of trainings, network meetings, and working groups in NA
    Build partnerships on national and international level with other organisations, government authorities working on issues related to child’s rights, to quality education

Your profile:

    Higher education (preferably master degree) in education, pedagogy, social sciences.
    At least 3 years experience of implementing educational programme/s
    At least 3 years work  in formal education institutions
    Experience in working in NGOs
    Strong skills and experience in project management, planning, monitoring, research and evaluation.
    Experience in HR development, in budget development
    Good knowledge and understanding of children’s rights, current trends in education field
    Leadership skills, initiative
    Excellent communication and networking skills.
    Ability to build and lead committed teams.
    Strategic thinking skills.
    Good spoken and written Azerbaijani and English.
    Computer skills
