The largest community in BP's Upstream Segment, around 6000 people work in operations, essentially delivering oil and gas from the wellhead to the market. Operations staff play a significant role at all stages of the exploration and production cycle - providing input to a project from early appraisal all the way through to full production.

Role synopsis BP

Azerbaijan-Georgia-Turkey Region (AGTR) invites qualified and experienced citizens of Azerbaijan to apply to Instrument and Control Engineer position. Successful job holder will be responsible for delivering specialist technical support and assurance for integrated control and safety system (ICSS), hardware and software systems, field instrumentations, Safety Instrumented System (SIS) and Fire & Gas system.

Key accountabilities:

- Provide technical assistance to Operations to help resolve any facility problems, as related to instrumentation, control, safety system, communications and measurement
- Provide technical assistance for start-up of facility additions and insure key documents (drawings, procedures, process functional descriptions, cause and effects, etc.) are developed and maintained in an as-built status
- Coordinate engineering contractors for design and equipment specification and coordinate onshore and offshore fabrication contractors to insure a facility of high quality built in a safe manner at reasonable cost with minimal impact on production.
- Conduct appropriate reviews (Best in Class sharing, HAZOP, Pre Start-up Safety
- Reviews to enhance safety, constructability and operability in the design of facility modifications
- Liaise with Facilities, Operations, and Maintenance teams to assist with root cause failure analyses, analysis of inspection results, and implementation of solutions- including small projects as necessary

Essential Education Degree in Instrument & Control Engineering.

Essential experience and job requirements

- Minimum 4 years of experience with instrumentation and control systems in Industry, preferably in Oil & Gas.
- Experience in the Integrated Control and Safety System (ICSS) design, operation and/or maintenance at oil and gas processing facilities
- Experience of operator training simulators, data historians, loop tuning, alarm systems, digital security and human machine interfaces.
