Azerbaijan Diplomatic Academy (ADA)

Position: Chief Accountant, ADA Foundation

 

POSITION SUMMARY:

Supports the accounting and reporting activities of ADA Foundation.  Directly responsible for reconciliations of general ledger account, and, analyzing, recording and documentation of investment transactions.  Prepares investment reports and all schedules for annual audits and tax returns.

 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITES:

• Maintains, analyze and reconcile general ledger accounts;

• Records and analyze investment related transactions;

• Prepares  month-end accounting and investment reports as required;

• Maintains  official files of financial documentation  for all transactions;

• Preparation of annual set of Financial Statements on the basis of IPSAS;

• Maintains schedules for annual audit and tax return as required;

• Supports the accounting and reporting requirements for donors, including the recording of income, payments to beneficiaries, and tax reporting;

• Prepares financial schedules and other reports for ADA Foundation and third party requests;

• Abides by all the rules and regulations of ADA Foundation;

• Performs all other related duties as assigned by Immediate Supervisor.

 

SUGGESTED MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelors’ degree in accounting or finance;

• At least 3 years of responsible work experience in a business, international audit or accounting office for a corporation or higher education institution;

• Knowledge of IFRS or IPSAS (International Public Sector Accounting Standard);

• Experience in filing tax returns, developing financial reports and annual audits;

• Demonstrated effectiveness in oral and written communication in English;

• Demonstrated ability to multi-task, strong work ethic and attention to detail;

• Excellent working knowledge of financial enterprise systems, and other business-related software (1C, SAP).

 

SUGGESTED PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Advance degree in accounting or finance;

• 5 or more years of work experience in a business, or accounting office or 3 year experience in international audit;

• Demonstrated ability to perform high level financial analysis, multi-year projections, and statistical analyses.
