Role synopsis
Azerbaijan, Georgia, Turkey (AGT) Fleet Renewal Project Team sits within Safety & Operational Risk (S&OR) organisation and has the primary function to manage the specification and assurance for the procurement of 11 time charter vessels for operations in the Caspian.
The role holder will work as a part of the Fleet Renewal Project team to maintain and develop project processes and procedures and support team’s activity to ensure the proper design and construction of the vessels through defining and measuring the primary contractor’s activities.
Key accountabilities
• To provide engineering Subject Matter Expertise to the Fleet Renewal Project
• Oversee assurance activities for the Fleet Renewal Project
• Manage BP’s 3rd party assurance contractor(s)
• Ensure risks mitigation and proper tracking followed in operation of Fleet Renewal Project
• Develop processes, practices and systems that improve operation and implement the best practices impacting the project
• Develop and maintain a Continuous Improvement programme within the Fleet Renewal Project team
• Play the role of deputy for the Project Marine Authority as required
Essential Education
• Engineering Degree in Marine, Electrical Engineering or Naval Architecture or class 1 certificate of competence for Marine Engineers
Essential experience and job requirements
• Minimum 5 years of experience in Engineering role
• Knowledge of risk management processes
• Strong analytical skills

• Understanding of internal and external customer needs
• Effective team working skills
• Understanding of operating management systems and continuous improvement processes
• Good knowledge of implementing change and improvements
Desirable criteria & qualifications
• Leadership experience
• Experience of Shipping Building
• Knowledge/understanding of the Oil & Gas industry
• Experince as an engineer sailing aboard offshore vessels
• Knowledge of project management processes
