Role synopsis The Trainee Wells Subsea Supervisor will be working in the Subsea wells team. The Trainee Wells Subsea Supervisor will report to the Azeri Chirag Guneshli (ACG) Wells Subsea Team Leader and will be mentored by the Wells Subsea Supervisors.
The Trainee Wells Subsea Supervisor’s role will work both onshore and offshore as required, in order to build experience and competence levels in the Safety, Process and Technical aspects of the Wells Subsea Supervisor’s discipline.
The Trainee Wells Subsea Supervisor will be involved in ensuring the success of the Subsea Xmas Tree (XMT) /Completion installation & Well Intervention activites undertaken on ACG & Shah Deniz Subsea Wells.
A key requirement of the position will be to actively participate in all aspects of training provided both in house and externally to ensure consistent progress towards the position of Wells Subsea Supervisor.


Key accountabilities

• Build competence in Offshore Subsea installation activities from both Vessels and Rigs.
• Build competence in onshore preparation Site Integration Testing/ Site Recieval Testing (SIT/ SRT) of all Subsea Wells Equipment Including XMT’s, Integated Workover Controls System (IWOCs), Tubing Hanger Completion Equipment, Subsea Test Trees etc
• Provide assistance for Subsea Equipment Mobilisation.
• Participate in preparation of XMT and Upper Completion Programmes and Work Instructions.
• Understand Subsea Remotely Operated Vehicle (ROV) operations and interface issues.
• Assist with day to day work plans for Subsea Contractor Personnel.
• Actively Promote BP’s HSE Safety culture
• Continually develop Lessons Learned and Continuous Improvement Plan.
• Take Part and perform relevant Risk Assessment / Hazop / Hazid requirements.
• Follow BP Drilling and Well Operation Procedures and Engineering Technical Practices.

Essential Education

• Minimum Bachelor Technical Degree

Essential experience and job requirements

• Minimum 2 years of experience in a supervisory role
• Willingness to work offshore and in a remote location in a challenging environment
• Fluent in English with good verbal and written communication skills
• Candidate must have comprehensive computer skills

Other essential skills and knowledge

• Proven ability to work as part of a team, to ensure continuity and success in achieving the team objectives
• Proven ability to work in a multi-cultural environment

Desirable criteria & qualifications

• Candidates with good Mechanical Background and Offshore experience (either with BP or BP Contractor/ Approved Supplier) is preferred
• Holder of current Offshore Survival/Medical Certification
• A demonstrable degree of familiarity with Subsea Production equipment & processes
• Familiarity with Subsea Engineering Standards
• Familiarity with Well Control processes and procedures, working towards IWCF Well Control Surface and Subsea Supervisor Certification.
• Technical background with formal training in mechanical / hydraulic engineering in the Oil/Energy Industry an advantage
• A working knowledge of Supply Chain Management, Materials Inventory Management and Control & onshore/ offshore Logistics Management and Control Processes
