Job title: Civil Projects Team Leader

Role synopsis:
 
The Civils Project Manager is accountable for delivery of all Civils projects at Sangachal ‎Terminal.‎
 
This position will oversee the Civils Construction Team that delivers various projects of a ‎wide range of size and complexity. ‎
 
This position is a key role as part of the Sangachal Logistics, Infrastructure, Interface ‎and Projects team, liaising and interfacing with the remaining team and operations to ‎deliver the projects aligned with BP standards and requirements.‎
 
The Civils projects currently range from 50 - 75 ongoing projects and require a ‎systematic delivery and management system. The Civils team is supported by projects ‎planning, projects services and Operations Engineering teams. The position will work to ‎assist the Sangachal Operations Logistics, Infrastructure, Interface and Projects Team to ‎deliver a variety of Civil, Structural, Architectural and building projects within the ‎administration and production facilities at the Sangachal Terminal.‎
 
This role will provide input into the planning and scheduling of civils projects as well as ‎evaluation of projects requirements.‎
The post is based at the Sangachal Terminal, which is one of the world’s largest oil and ‎gas terminals, currently processing up to 1000 mbpd crude oil and 900 mmscfd gas ‎daily
 
Key accountabilities:
 
• Manage team in delivery of civil and design works including building services ‎requirements. Evaluate detailed designs prepared by others. ‎
• Ensure proper preparation of specifications and scopes of work by civils team to ‎ensure compliance with BP Standards and undertake product research.‎
• Ensure team liaison with Sangachal Terminal Engineering department by team and take advice as ‎necessary to ensure delivery of project to BP and Regulatory standards.‎
• Management of team to align with Document Management Procedures and ‎systems.‎
• Ensure team preparation of technical information for tender packages and ‎finalize final documents for submission. Sign approval of scopes of work and ‎ensure robust packages are issues.‎
• Manage preparation of Scope of Work (SOW) and Tender documents for Civil Projects to ensure ‎appropriate technical data is included and appropriate scope description is ‎included. Provide technical approval of documents prior to issue.‎
• Management of team to align with the Sangachal Projects Implementation
 
‎Procedure:
 
• Ensure project compliance with BP technical standards. ‎
• Ensure project compliance with Guidance on Certification (GOC) and quality standards,‎
• Ensure project compliance with Regulatory standards as required.‎
• Maintain assurance of contractor performance and lead performance meetings ‎with contractor Sr. Management on routine basis. ‎
• Monitor and report on all aspects of contractor performance.‎
• Ensure Project Close-out of each project and capture lessons learned. Ensure ‎these lessons learned are applied in future projects.‎
• Ensure any additional work or design changes follow proper change tracking ‎
• Ensure new information and changes to the Project are properly communicated
 
Essential Education:
 
• Hold a degree or equivalent qualification in relevant construction engineering ‎discipline. ‎
 
Essential experience and job requirements:
 
• At least 10 years relevant experience in Civil / Construction Projects ‎
• Previous experience working in the oil and gas industry
 
Other essential skills and knowledge:
 
• Previous experience working with cross functional teams ‎
• Previous experience working in situations requiring self motivation, ability to set ‎goals and objectives, work unsupervised and meet deadlines.‎
• Key HSSE Responsibilities associated with Role requiring previous experience: ‎
o Compliance with all BP’s Health, Safety, Security and Environment ‎‎(HSSE) policies and procedures including, wearing of personal protective ‎equipment (PPE); accident, injury incident and near miss reporting; and ‎the correct use of equipment
o Participation in HSSE training and discussions, workplace inspections and ‎audits, and assist in the resolution of health and safety issues as required
o Contribute to successful implementation of HSSE program and initiatives‎
