BP's Upstream segment focuses on finding reserves of oil and gas, developing the means to extract and process it and then consistently producing and transporting it to market. This involves using cutting edge technology to find the energy reserves, the ability to drill thousands of meters under the ground, designing, building and operating some of the world's largest most complex production onshore / offshore facilities and finally being able to transport these fluids, in order to provide energy to the world.
Role synopsis
ST Onshore Site Manager (OSM) is fully accountable for the safe and efficient operation and cost management of the industrial plant area at the Terminal. The OSM provides leadership to a large operations organization to deliver challenging safety, integrity, production, and other business targets within a strong culture of performance management.
Key accountabilities
As successful candidate you will responsible for delivering safe, reliable, and compliant operations and driving an everyday continuous improvement mindset within the organisation. You will effectively act as “owner” of the operating assets at ST to deliver the following accountabilities:
• Lead operations’ teams at ST to ensure safe and reliable execution of work activities.
• Ensure efficient Capex & Opex spend by the development and management of Annual Work Plan & Budget.
• Embed values within the operations team and fosters a delivery culture that will not tolerate injuries to people or damage to the environment.
• Ensure compliance with all appropriate regulatory and company standards.
• Ensure that integrity management issues at site are actively managed and risks managed.
• Initiate incident investigations as required and approve reports and actions.
• Support the On Scene Commanders to effectively manage site emergencies.
• Responsible for developing the organisational capability as well as playing a lead role in liaising with the large national workforce.
• Ensure that all people are treated fairly with respect and dignity, and maintaining a motivated and inspired workforce will be critical.
Essential Education
The successful candidate will have an Engineering or Science degree and/or extensive experience in oil and/or gas plant operations.
Essential experience and job requirements
• Strong execution, delivery and interpersonal skills demonstrated in the leadership of operating teams, managing contractors, and change management.
• Proven track record in a supervisory position with particular emphasis on safety and performance management while maintaining high staff morale and motivation.
• Clear knowledge, deep understanding and demonstrated leadership of Control of Work, safety leadership and major incident control.
• Well-developed staff coaching and development skills with a track record of developing national staff, defining high quality succession candidates, and creating plans to accelerate development of key staff.
• Strong communication, mentoring, and coaching skills with ability to work within a multicultural environment including expatriates from various countries.
• Excellent communication skills with ability to interface effectively with all personnel on site in a variety of forums.
• Demonstration of effective communication abilities at all levels in the organisation will be required along with the ability to network both internally and externally (government and partners).
• Demonstrated experience and skills in Emergency Management.
• Azerbaijani citizenship is required
