Role synopsis
The Compliance Team Case Manager is responsible for contributing to the assessment of allegations that are submitted via the Fraud and Misconduct Reporting Standard (“FMRS”). The Case manager will coordinate and lead a compliance investigation team, conduct investigations and participate in investigation teams in accordance with the BP Investigation Guidelines regarding allegations of fraud, corruption, serious misconduct posing a significant risk to the BP AGTR (Azerbaijan-Georgia-Turkey Region) or any of its businesses or joint ventures. The purpose of the Ethics & Compliance Team is compliance with BP policies on anti-bribery, anti-money laundering and fraud and other area of misconduct.
Key accountabilities
As Compliance Team Case Manager, you will:
•Professionally undertake case management of incidents from receipt of the allegations through to conclusion of investigations
•Contribute to the assessment of the allegation and identification of key issues and risks that need to be addressed
• Prepare and agree the investigation plans, including resource requirements
• Lead/manage investigations and/or conduct investigations and/or participate in investigation teams regarding serious allegations posing a significant financial, legal or public relation risk to the BP Group or any of its businesses or joint ventures i.e. fraud, corruption, and other serious misconduct
• Plan and conduct interviews with witnesses and subjects
• Manage the relationship with the source of the allegation
• Prepare reports of these investigations, brief management on the findings, including root causes, and maintain consolidated investigations/allegations register
• Analyse the root cause of control deficiencies and monitor remediation
• Liaise and co-ordinate with Human Resources, Legal, Group Compliance & Ethics, Group Security, PSCM (Procurement Supply Chain Management) compliance team and Internal Audit to enhance teamwork and cooperation
• Proactively promote the Fraud & Misconduct Reporting Standard, the Investigation Management Control Process and the BP Investigation Guidelines
Essential Education
University Degree Fluent in Azerbaijani and English languages
Essential experience and job requirements
• Minimum 6 years working experience with 2 years in the relevant field
• Investigation and/or interviewing experience
• Experience in assessing complex situations and devising options
Other Requirements (eg Travel, Location)
Travel to Turkey and Georgia will likely be required from time to time.
Desirable criteria & qualifications
• Ability to brief management and provide concise and professional advice
• Exemplary and unquestionable personal integrity and moral compass
• Excellent active listening skills.
• Excellent analytic skills, with significant attention to detail.
• Strong strategic and political awareness.
• Ability to work with others at all levels within BP, to manage conflicts and conduct difficult discussions and close matters in a timely manner.
• Demonstrated ability to work with senior management and external parties, as required
• Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) would be an advantage
• Relevant Professional Qualification (e.g. accountancy, legal) desirable
• Investigation or audit experience with large global companies or consulting firms would be well regarded
