Job title Environment Air Emissions Advisor
The Air Emissions Advisor will serve as a subject matter expert and provide technical and program compliance support to the Environmental Function on issues relating to emissions to air. The incumbent will also provide air emissions permitting and compliance expertise to the function, and develop strategies and compliance plans for new and existing air emissions regulations.
Environment Air Emissions Advisor will report to Regulatory Compliance and Environmental Specialists Team Leader.
Key accountabilities
The specific roles and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Maintaining AGT Region Energy Use Policy and its implementation working closely with relevant personnel in HSE and Operations.
• Maintaining AGT Region Flaring and Venting Policy and assisting with the AGT Region Flaring forecasting process and Flaring related internal and external reporting
• Develop and maintain air emissions inventory/register for all AGT Region operations and leading AGT Region Green House Gases (GHG) forecasting process and GHG internal and external reporting
• Develop and keep updated air emissions related compliance requirements and register working with HSE Compliance Management System Team. Assist with development of air related recurring tasks for their Compliance Task Management System (CTMS) working together with HSE Compliance team and asset Compliance Advisors
• Define and track air emissions/ flaring/ energy use/ efficiency Key Performance Indicators. Undertake air emissions and flaring analyses and prepare regular dashboards to provide statistical trend reports etc.
• Provide guidance and assist in implementation of BP internal standards
• Visit Offshore and onshore facilities with inspections, Health Safety and Environment (HSE) related incident investigations as required. Provide support for internal compliance audits.
• Assist with regulatory agency inspections and/or inquires related to air emissions compliance, and follow-up as requested regarding any non-compliance issues.
• Create strong relationship and network on air issues within AGTR and BP.
Essential Education
• Master degree in Chemistry, Biology, Geography or any other related technical disciplines
• Diploma or Certificate in Environmental Management System (ISO14001)
Essential experience and job requirements
• 2 years experience in environmental area and in particular on air emissions issues /air emissions monitoring
• 2 years of experience implementing HSE Policies, Standards, Practices and Guidelines.
• Understanding of oil & gas industry operations is required
• Experience in working with health, safety and environmental laws and regulations is required
Other essential skills and knowledge
• Strong communication and team work skills. Highly effective verbal and written communication skills, able to engage with and effectively influence site personnel and site management
• Ability to provide innovative and effective solutions to complex business issues
• Willing to take the lead, self motivated
Desirable criteria & qualifications
• IEMA Membership would be beneficial (proved by diploma or certificates).
